Upholstered dining table chairs made to measure.

For a private customer, we have produced eight chairs in stained oak with upholstery. Produced in Switzerland by Tossa GmbH and Polsteratelier Struck.

Everyone who is a little shorter and not quite the average size knows the problem: when sitting on dining chairs, only the toes touch the floor, and the legs just dangle aimlessly down. Our customer felt the same way and asked us to design dining chairs that are designed for her size. But also, all her guests must sit comfortably on them for several hours during a dinner. A great project, which we were more than happy to realise.

After several hand sketches, the most favourite design was chosen and worked out. Quite soon we visited the upholstery workshop in Hunzenschwil together with our customer so that she could try out the different upholstery thicknesses. There we also had a look through a large selection of fabrics and selected the perfect match with our client.

Now Tossa GmbH created a prototype, which was then covered with the upholstery and the selected fabric. Once again, our customer was able to try it out and final adjustments were made. With the visits to the production, we were able to ensure that the dining table chair was exactly tailored to the needs of our customer.

At that time, our customer still lived in Switzerland, shortly after she returned to her home country Australia. The chairs were loaded directly from production together with the rest of her furniture into a temperature-controlled container, which made the long journey to Sydney. Now she has a piece of Switzerland in her new home. A piece of Switzerland tailored to her.
