Our work process is identical for every project and every enquiry. We follow clear procedures that structure our projects and bring them to a successful conclusion. However, since the respective requirements differ from project to project, there are always some minor deviations. And that’s a good thing, because we love variety.
The starting point for the development of a new product is multifaceted. Whether an idea, a simple sketch, a material experiment or the expansion of an existing product family are the basis, each scenario is the beginning of a design process. Always, with you at the centre.
At a kick-off meeting, the project is discussed and then realised step by step in a design, detailing and implementation phase.
We like to involve our customers in the design process and, if they are interested, they are also allowed to take a look at the production. Whenever possible and feasible, we work together with local companies in the production. We maintain a broad network of highly qualified manufacturing partners.
Kickoff – Meeting
At the beginning of a new project there is always a personal exchange. It is important to us that we can convince you not only with our competence but also with our open-minded personality. Together we will tackle a project that will be realised over a longer period of time. Therefore, the cooperation must be right from the start on all levels. In order to specify the contents, we start with a kick-off meeting. This can take place at your place or at our studio. Your ideas, your concrete request, your goals and the time schedule to be aimed for are discussed and worked out together. Depending on the initial situation, it may be useful to draw up a mood board.
Design phase
This phase is very creative and, depending on the project content, involves experimenting with materials, sketching initial ideas and creating idea models. This is always based on an idea, supported or developed on the market analysis we have carried out. The market analysis helps us to get an overview of the current offer and needs on the market.
We appreciate the prompt implementation of the initial ideas in quickly realised models. In this way we achieve a three-dimensional visualisation of the ideas and variations. The idea models are realised with easily available and workable materials. They concentrate on the essentials and are clear and easy for third parties to understand. This is the optimal foundation for discussing the resulting approaches from the design phase with our client. Here it is decided which ideas will be pursued and elaborated.
Detailing phase
In the detailing phase, the preferred designs from the draft phase are worked out in detail. The project idea is finalised and the client’s feedback from the design phase is taken on board, elaborated and adapted. We create working models to check versions, proportions, function, construction, feasibility, materialisation and colouring. These are all important factors that need to be examined before the detailed implementation plans for the next and final phase are drawn up. If necessary and useful, our 3D printer can also be used. With this procedure, we can guarantee that aspects of content, aesthetics, construction and craftsmanship are always critically evaluated. Nothing stands in the way of the final implementation!
Implementation phase
Now it’s time for the implementation. This includes the search for a suitable producer, obtaining quotations and full communication up to the realisation of the prototype and finally the final product.
It is important to us to mention that the cooperation with the producer often happens much earlier. Often already in the design phase. We see the early exchange and involvement of the producer as added value for all involved. The producer is a professional in his field and we in ours. Together we are strong. Strong to meet the expectations of our customers to their fullest satisfaction.
