The niu furniture collection is available in an oiled finish as standard. We are happy to meet customer requirements and, if desired, treat the furniture with a raw-effect or coloured lacquer. The collection can also be realised with other woods. For more information, please go to «Custom-Made».

Colour and structural deviations are part of it and make every piece of furniture unique. We would like to point out that for ash, the entire trunk including the darker coloured core is processed as standard. If you prefer ash without a core, we can gladly realise this for an additional charge.
Wooden furniture changes due to daylight. Due to the UV light wood such as ash and oak darkens a little and dark wood such as walnut becomes lighter. All woods remain natural and beautiful. We recommend that you do not expose niu furniture to permanent sunlight. If objects on wooden furniture are always placed at the same spot for a long time, differences in brightness may occur. Therefore, always move the objects a little from time to time. This way you will enjoy your niu furniture for a long time.
The origin of our wood is important to us and we fully stand behind our sources. Our producer can transparently trace where the wood comes from. For ash and oak, we use Swiss wood whenever possible.
For ash, we have the HSH certificate (Swiss wood origin mark). There is no certification as such for oak and American walnut. However, the suppliers of our producer are obliged by law to be able to prove the origin of the wood and especially in the EU area the EUTR (European Timber Regulation) applies, which has very strict inspection criteria and prevents illegally sourced wood from being imported into the EU area. The EUTR (EU Timber Regulation) aims to ban or exclude timber and timber products from illegal forestry in the EU internal market.
Our producer in Muotathal as a supplier of solid wood products confirms the following:
• that the information listed below on the individual types of wood has been verified
• the necessary documents for the proof of the supply chain to the upstream suppliers are available
• that there is no suspicion of illegal felling

With the right care, the niu furniture will give you pleasure for a very long time. When soiled, clean the piece of wooden furniture with a slightly damp cotton cloth. Once or twice a year, we recommend giving the furniture a fresh oil treatment. This renews the protection and the silky shine and fresh appearance make the niu furniture look like new.
Maintenance
When soiled, clean with a slightly damp cotton cloth.
Caution: do not use microfibre cloths. These dissolve the oils and waxes from the wood surface.
When is retreatment necessary?
• when the surface appears faded
• when the wood feels dry and brittle
• when the surface is slightly scratched
If the surface is badly damaged, we recommend that it be reworked by a specialist.
Retreatment
Apply care product sparingly with a white cotton cloth. Apply the care product evenly in the direction of the wood fibres and polish with a dry cloth. If too much product has been applied to the wood surface, remove it with a dry cloth. Do not allow excess care product to dry on the surface. Caution: Always store the used cloth after use in a sealable tin or a jar with a screw cap (there is a risk of spontaneous inflammation).
