The twisted legs are the heart of the furniture collection. They are inspired by a traditional craft but realized with the latest wood processing technology in Muotathal. A perfect wooden wedge connection holds the legs together with the top; without using a single screw. The designers Simone Hölzl and Christine Urech emphasise quality, precision and regional production. With their lasting values, the products are intended to last for generations with the end customer. The design by niu is the Wood Award winner and stood out against more than 200 entries. The competition was organised by the Association of Swiss Master Carpenters and Furniture Makers (VSSM) on the occasion of their 125th anniversary. The focus was on the successful collaboration between carpenters and designers.
Our furniture range offers you an extensive selection. Ash, oak and walnut are our high-quality solid woods.
With ash, we process a wood from Switzerland. Oak, too, if there is enough stock. Otherwise, we source it from nearby countries such as Germany and France. The much-loved walnut comes from eastern North America. The surface is oiled as standard, but can also be treated with a raw-effect lacquer. For coloured versions, ash is treated with an open-pored lacquer so that the beautiful wood structure is visible.
