The lounge chair of the FOREST collection is the result of a commission for the outdoor designer Jan Hauser. Through many years of experience with the material, Jan Hauser wanted to realise a furniture collection that does not yet exist on the market.
The lounge chair is designed for outdoors. The furniture is made of a regrowing material – Ipé wood. In the field of furniture construction, it breaks new ground.
This wood has all the necessary requirements for explicit use in outdoor areas. Ipé is durable, weather-resistant, and aesthetically beautiful. The extremely robust wood has already proven itself in shipbuilding.
In the design process the focus was besides a timeless design that the product is constructed in a sustainable way and has well planned wood connections. The lounge chair is designed in a way that individual parts can be replaced (if necessary).
The generous seat invites you to relax. The backrest is formally inspired by a modern throne. The cushions complete the oasis of well-being without covering the view of the high craftsmanship of the woodworking.
The lounge chair is produced in Switzerland and is numbered and labelled with a brass plate. After a successful introduction to the market, it is planned to complete the range with a product family that includes a lounge sofa, sofa table and dining table with chairs.
